Lyonel Tan

Lyonel has been playing drums since he was 17 learning from Yamaha. As a young passionate drummer, he was the drummer for a Catholic church and an indie band called TIEN where they performed ad hoc events in ZOUK, Adidas challenge, Escape park, Esplanade Waterfront and even released an album.
 

With over 25 years of drumming experience under his belt, Lyonel is now a full time drummer performing at hotels, bars, bistros, restaurants, clubs, weddings, corporate events and shows. Some of the venues and shows include TGIF @ Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, Orchard Hotel, Grand Copthorne Hotel, Level Up, CMPB bistro & bar, HJ bistro, Essen bar, Jyu Gae bar, JJan bistro, BarbarQ, Yumeno Suteji bar, NOMADS, Pavilion Live house, Apollo, Mirabilis bar, Notes, NDP events, Christmas events, CNY events, Esplanade Waterfront, and many other venues/events. Lyonel is also currently the drummer for New Creation Church Chinese services.

Besides being an experienced drummer/performer, Lyonel has also taught drums in a music school with students ranging from 5 to 66 years old. His teaching methods ranges from preparing students for exams from Trinity College Rock & Pop to teaching drums via their favourite songs for those who just want to have fun drumming. In 2022, Lyonel acquired his Trinity Rock & Pop Drum Grade 7 with distinction to mark a major milestone in his drumming journey.

Apart from drums, Lyonel is also a guitarist/assistant vocalist and performs weekly at bars playing English and Mando songs. His passion for music extends into music production, audio mixing/mastering and possibly being a professional DJ!
